The recently appointed Electoral Commission chair Suresh Chandra met with the representatives of five political parties yesterday.
Chandra says they are focusing on familiarizing themselves with the tasks before them as election is a highly specialized operation.
He says they will ensure the Fijian Elections Office and the Electoral Commission acquires the necessary capacities to conduct election operations.
The chair told the representatives that they have received the annual reports and recommendations by the previous Commission.
Chandra says they will only make any statement or comments on the report of the last Commission after reviewing it thoroughly.
He adds that they anticipate doing so by June.
