Five remaining family evacuated

Members of five households who had been living at the eviction site in the Korman area behind Pacific Supplies were finally relocated yesterday as the 30-day court-granted stay enforcement ended.
Yesterday morning about 9:45, the Sheriff and law enforcement officials issued the final eviction order to the remaining family still residing there.
According to Annie Tangararo, the five families were relocated to her privately owned land at Erakor while waiting for the Tangararo family to complete the procedure of the evicted land.
“Now they are moving to a land that is privately owned by myself, and their move is under family Tangararo’s name. We are also sad for these families; as they have trusted us to purchase these lands,” she said.
She claimed that they have requested a stay order in the hopes of filing a police investigation for fraud, believing that a resolution would be reached between the 30-day waiting period and the return of the evacuated families.
This has not worked out as she stated they have not heard from the police, and it appears that the authorities are not interested in pursuing the complaint they submitted.
Ms Tangararo was of the opinion that someone had leased the land to Bellevue Estate without their entire tribe’s consent, which led to the eviction order and implementation by law enforcement officials.
