General Manager (GM) of Moorings Hotel, Joe Tamata has welcomed the banning of fishing all along the coast of Port Vila Harbour saying it is a tremendous boost to enable the lagoon to replenish itself of marine life, as well as discourage thieves from stealing from the hotel. While the GM confirms his staff’s coral and ‘natongtong’ or mangrove replanting project has been suspended until later, he adds, “We suspected criminals who disguised themselves as fishermen who arrived by boat late at night to steal furniture and other stuff from our facilities”.
