
In an official statement, from the Central Defense Headquarters of the West Papua Revolutionary Army (WPRA), an affiliate Command of the West Papua Army (WPA), Gen. WPRA Amunggut Tabi expresses “Deep Condolences” to the passing away of WPRA’s great fellow and one of the key players within the independence movement of the Republic of West Papua within the Independent State of Papua New Guinea.
Gen. Tabi explains that “Sandaun Lost a Leader and West Papua Lost a Voice” because the Late Takwie has been very strong supporter of West Papua as he himself is partly a West Papuan blood and he has been supporting West Papua since his childhood.
According to his son, before he died, he said many times
Vanimo – West Papua, Vanimo – West Papua, Vanimo – West Papua, Vanimo West Papua, Vanimo, West Papua, until he stopped breating.
One of the General Tabi’s high ranking officials also received a text message in the morning, saying,
Hi Good Morning. Let the people back home know that I am arriving at Vanimo Airport tomorrow morning. Please tell our brother-in-law organise vehicle to pick me up at Vanimo. I am going home.
Gen. Tabi also explains there has been a series of meetings held between himself representing WPRA – WPA and the Late Tekwie, discussing the possibility of setting up WPA Central Defense Headquarters in Papua New Guinea.
