I knew Bapak Thommey as a strong and brave man. When he was young he was a warrior, a West Papua freedom fighter. Ready to sacrifice his all for the love his people, his beloved West Papua.
When he got older had to live in exile, he never gave up hope, he never give up the struggle. As an elder he inspired many young actvists to become freedom fighters to keep the struggle alive.
On Monday I will sing songs to celebrate your life and to remember your struggle and your sacrifices.
We will honour you. We will struggle on.
